Two women – ill, chattering Jill and strong, quiet Ellen – struggle to run a chicken farm and are helped by a man who lived there years ago. The man proposes to Ellen, but this leads to the women exploring feelings they've harbored for each other. Based on the novel by D.H Lawrence.
