Como cualquiera en la industria cinematográfica le diría, producir una película animada no es una empresa pequeña, pero para Cameron parecía ser algo natural. Fue solo el siguiente paso lógico en el desarrollo de sus amistosas criaturas marinas dando el salto de sus libros a la pantalla. Pocos autores pueden hacer algo como esto y, en el caso de Cameron, ella lo hizo TODO.
Escribió el guión, produjo la película, dirigió la película, eligió a los personajes, comercializó el producto terminado, actualmente está trabajando en los derechos de distribución y, más importante que nada, apostó por ella misma y autofinancia el proyecto. Sin miedo o loco, el resultado final es que el producto del trabajo es excelente y estamos impresionados.
La única crítica menor que se puede ofrecer es que puede ser un poquito largo (88 minutos), pero sigue siendo entretenido de principio a fin. También creo que el cine muestra los talentos creativos de Cameron, así como su capacidad para gestionar situaciones financieras complejas y podría conducir a proyectos de mayor presupuesto tanto en cine como en televisión.
Es importante tener en cuenta que, si bien este es el primer proyecto de Cameron en la pantalla, el desarrollo de los personajes y la línea de la historia ha tardado años en realizarse. El éxito de la noche a la mañana suele ir precedido de décadas de arduo trabajo, por lo que, si bien es sorprendente que el primer esfuerzo en una película animada pudiera salir tan bien, tuvo el beneficio de la serie de libros para niños para impulsar el proyecto.
Puede que no sea el momento de escribir el obituario de Sponge Bob Square Pants, pero Kim Cameron ciertamente demostró que hay mas peces famosos más en el mar, ¡y algunos de ellos tienen super poderes!

Movie Critic: Seaper Powers: "In Search of Bleu Jay's Treasure" The Movie

We recently attended the Premiere of Kim Cameron's latest creative endeavor, SeaperPowers: "In Search of Bleu Jay's Treasure" The Movie. Cameron is most widely known as an accomplished Musical Artist and Author. She has now hit the Trifecta by producing a terrifically entertaining animated film based on her Seaper Powers children's book series.
Meet Emma, a little girl on vacation off the island of St Thomas who discovers magical seagrass that gives her the power to talk to Sea Creatures! Emma makes a new group of friends including Oliver the very shy Octopus and Steve the Starfish who together search for buried treasure while developing a fond friendship while learning life's little lessons.
As anyone in the Motion Picture Industry would tell you producing an animated film is no small undertaking but for Cameron it just seemed to come naturally. It was just the next logical step in the development of her friendly Sea Creatures making the leap from her books to the screen. Few authors can actually do something like this and in Cameron's case she did it ALL. She wrote the script, produced the film, directed the film, cast the characters, marketed the finished product, is currently working on distribution rights and more important than anything else she bet on herself and self-funded the project. Fearless or crazy the bottom line is the work product is excellent and we are impressed.
The only minor criticism to offer is it might be a tiny bit long (88 minutes), but it remains entertaining from start to finish. It is also my belief that film showcases Cameron's creative talents as well as her ability to manage complex financial situations and could lead to larger budget projects in both Film and TV.
It is important to note that while this is Cameron's first project on the screen the development of the characters and the story line has been years in the making. Overnight success is usually preceded by decades of hard work so while it is amazing that one's first effort in animated film could go so well, she had the benefit of her children's book series to propelthe project.
It might not be time to write Sponge Bob Square Pants obituary, but Kim Cameron certainly proved that there are a few more celebrity fish in the Sea and some of them have SeaperPowers!
