luz sobre lo que hace que una banda tenga éxito incluso si su música pasa la prueba del tiempo.
Mientras Cameron Crowe entrevista a Croz a lo largo deldocumental este último tiende a irradiar su brillante personalidad narcisista en la cámara. Parece que son cuatro factores conmovedores en la vida de Croz que contribuyen a su personalidad y la desaparición de la banda.
Croz menciona a su padre como una persona indiferente que nunca le dijo la palabra: "Te amo". Croz era una clase payaso dentro y fuera de diferentes escuelas en las que creció.
En 1969, Crosby, Stills, Nash y Young tocaron su segundo concierto en vivo juntos en Woodstock y todos sus carreras tanto individualmente como en grupo fueron
cambiado para siempre, Curiosamente, David Crosby nunca escribió un "solo hit" pero colaboró en muchos de los grandes éxitos de la banda, incluyendo "Ohio", que está relacionado con la protesta y el tiroteo de estudiantes en la Universidad de Kent el 4 de Mayo de 1970.
El 12 de julio de 1987, Croz perdió a una novia joven y cercana, Christine Hinton, en un accidente automovilístico. Cameron Crowe y A.J. Eaton hacen un excelente trabajo al transmitir el mensaje al principio del documental.

Sony Pictures Classics presents “David Crosby:Remember My Name” a documentary directed by A.J. Eaton and produced by Cameron Crowe. This intimate documentary covers David Crosby’s life, from his early relationship with his parents to the present day.
No documentary about David Crosby could be complete without an in depth view of his relationship withan in depth view of his relationship with Stephen Stills, Graham Nash, and Neil Young. The talented Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young created songs
such as “Our House”, “Southern Cross”, “Teach Your Children”, “Wooden Ships”, “Woodstock”, and “Marrakesh Express” to name a few.
So what happened? Why didn’t they have the successful longevity that say the Rolling Stones experienced or still
experience for that matter? This documentary sheds a light on what makes a band successful even if their music passes the test of time.
As Cameron Crowe interviews Croz throughout the documentary the latter tends to radiate this brilliant narcissistic personality at the camera. There appears to
be four poignant factors in Croz’s life that contributes to his personality and the demise of the band. Croz mentions his father as an uncaring person never
uttering the words to him, “I love you.”
Croz was a class clown in and out of different schools growing up. In 1969, Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young played their second live concert together at Woodstock and all their careers both individually and as a group were changed forever. Interestingly David Crosby never wrote a “hit single” but collaborated on many of the bands biggest hits including “Ohio” which is related to the protest and shooting of students at Kent State University on May 4, 1970.
On July 12, 1987, Croz lost a young and close girlfriend, Christine Hinton, in a car accident. Throw some alcohol, marijuana, cocaine, and heroine into the picture and
you have created a monster who is extremely difficult to work with and apparently exchanged some harsh words with fellow band members. Never mind the toll it
all took on his current health.
The documentary touches on other parts of Croz’s life such as his relationship with Joni Mitchell and early years with The Byrds. I actually think the film could have
been edited and seems to drag a bit towards the end.
Cameron Crowe and A.J.Eaton do an excellent job getting the message across early in the documentary. David Crosby led a complicated life and while he
currently seems to be pulling things together it is a shame to hear him suggest that not a single musician from his past speaks to him today including his loyalist
colleague and lifetime friend Graham Nash.
For anyone who was a devoted Croz fan and attended many of his shows, this documentary might be a let down. It reveals a darker image of David Crosby and sometimes these revelations are not so nice and rather than sad.
I give this film 7/10 stars
