The Lookout

Writer-director Scott Frank, who scripted the screen adaptations of Elmore Leonard's "Get Shorty" and "Out of Sight," scores a winner with this gripping noirish caper saga. Joseph Gordon-Levitt stars as a bank janitor who falls in with thieves who are planning to rob his workplace. When he has second thoughts about participating, they ratchet up the pressure with threats to some innocent outsiders.
